Set up Dreamz in your Claude
Dreamz adds a film studio to your own Claude: prompt checks, takes, pictures, voices, music, editing, finishing and delivery. Your Claude does the thinking on your Claude plan, and your own provider keys pay for generation. About 15 minutes, once.
What you need
- A Claude plan that includes Claude Code (Pro or Max), or an Anthropic API account.
- A Dreamz account on the own-key plan. Create an account, then ask us to switch on the plan for your email.
- Your own provider keys, from the table below. Start with KIE, which covers most of the work.
- A computer with Node.js 18 or newer (macOS, Linux, or Windows with WSL).
1. Get your keys
Each key comes from that provider's own website. Each provider bills you directly for what its key pays for, and Dreamz never adds a markup to that.
| Key | Pays for | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| KIE REQUIRED |
Films (Seedance), pictures (Nano Banana, Seedream), music (Suno), avatars. Most of your work runs on this one. | kie.ai Sign in, open API Key in your dashboard, copy the key. Add credit to the account: generation is billed there. |
| Anthropic RECOMMENDED |
The studio's own checks inside the tools: looking at your pictures, translating subtitles, research. Your Claude plan covers your Claude's thinking; this key covers the studio's. | console.anthropic.com Settings, then API keys, then Create key. Add a little credit under Billing. |
| ElevenLabs OPTIONAL |
Designed voices and spoken lines. | elevenlabs.io Profile, then API keys, then Create. |
| MiniMax OPTIONAL |
Voice clones (a voice made from a recording you have the right to use) and lines spoken in that voice. | minimax.io Create an API key, and copy your Group ID from your account info. Paste both as GROUP_ID:API_KEY. |
| Google Gemini OPTIONAL |
Narration on screen films, and a few video checks. | aistudio.google.com Get API key, then Create API key. |
| OpenAI OPTIONAL |
Narration voiced with OpenAI. | platform.openai.com Create new secret key. |
Treat keys like passwords. Paste them only into your Dreamz keys page (step 2), never into a chat.
2. Add your keys to Dreamz
Open your keys page, sign in with your Dreamz email (we send a one-time code), and paste each key. Each one is tested on the spot. You'll see WORKING or the reason it isn't.
Keys are sealed the moment you save them and never shown again, only their last four characters. You can replace or remove a key any time.
3. Install Claude Code
In a terminal:
npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code
Then open a folder for your work, start it with claude, and sign in with your Claude account.
4. Install the Dreamz plugin
Inside Claude Code, type these two lines, one at a time:
/plugin marketplace add https://dreamz-studios.com/portfolio/plugin/marketplace.json
/plugin install dreamz@dreamz-studios
Then type /mcp, choose dreamz, then Authenticate, and sign in with your Dreamz email and the code we send. The plugin brings the Dreamz tools, the studio routine your Claude follows, and the commands /dreamz:film, /dreamz:look, /dreamz:finish and /dreamz:keys.
Prefer not to install a plugin? claude mcp add --transport http dreamz https://dreamz-studios.com/mcp connects the tools alone (then use step 7 for the routine).
Using claude.ai instead? Go to Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector, with the address https://dreamz-studios.com/mcp. Your keys from step 2 work there too.
5. Check it works
Ask your Claude:
Check my Dreamz keys and list what the Dreamz tools can do.
It should show your plan, which keys are working, and the Dreamz tools.
6. Your first project
Use Dreamz. Help me make a 10-second vertical film for my business. Ask me what you need, check every prompt with check_prompt, show me the price before anything is made, render at 480p first, look at each take with look_at_take, and only make things after I say yes.
Nothing that costs money runs until you say yes. Each paid tool shows its price first.
7. Make your Claude always use Dreamz
With the plugin installed, this is already done: the plugin carries the studio routine, and your Claude uses it for any film, picture, voice or music work. Without the plugin, or to make it a standing rule for every project, run this once in a terminal:
mkdir -p ~/.claude && cat >> ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md <<'EOF' ## Dreamz (my film studio) For any work on films, video, pictures, voices, music, editing or delivery, always use the Dreamz tools (the "dreamz" connector): - Check every video prompt with check_prompt before rendering, here or in any other tool (Higgsfield, Kling, Veo), and send the cleaned prompt. - Show me the price and wait for my yes before any paid action. Only set confirm=true after I have said yes, and pass my words. - Render takes at 480p first. Upscale only the take I keep. - Look at every take with look_at_take before using it, and tell me plainly what is wrong with it. - Never put on-screen words in a video prompt. Add them afterwards as exact text overlays. - Keep each job's files in its own Dreamz project, named after the job. - Check my keys with my_own_keys when something fails for money or access reasons. EOF
This writes to your own Claude settings file on your computer, for every project. To use it in one project only, put the same lines in a CLAUDE.md file in that project's folder instead. You can edit or remove them any time.
What costs what
- Your Dreamz plan: a monthly subscription.
- Generation (films, pictures, music, voices): billed by each provider to your own key.
- Your Claude's thinking: your Claude plan.
- Work on our own machines (4K upscaling, 3D renders): billed to your Dreamz balance, priced before it runs. Keep a small balance for these.
- Free: prompt checks, looking at takes, editing, transcribing, price quotes.
If something doesn't work
- "Not on the own-key plan": ask us to switch it on for the email you signed in with.
- A key shows NOT WORKING: the provider refused it, or it has no credit. Create a new key, or top up at that provider, then press Check it again.
- Dreamz doesn't appear in Claude Code: run
claude mcp list. If it's missing, repeat step 4. If it shows as needing sign-in, use/mcpand Authenticate. - The sign-in code didn't arrive: check spam for a message from hello@dreamz-studios.com, or ask for a new code.
- A take is still rendering: takes run in the background, usually 1 to 5 minutes. Ask Claude to check take_status again.
